Michele Kelso Warren

Associate Director

Michele has worked with the Local Government Commission since 1991. She is responsible for the planning and production of all major conferences, as well as the management of numerous projects that include workshops, seminars and special events. She oversees all aspects of producing the LGC's annual New Partners for Smart Growth: Building Safe, Healthy and Livable Communities Conference, an event considered to be the "premier" smart growth conference in the country. She has been directly involved in the planning and production of over 75 regional, statewide and national conferences, workshops and trade shows, ranging in size from 25 to 1,500 participants. The majority of these events have been focused on sustainable development. She also managed the LGC's renowned 2001-2002 Ahwahnee Awards Program (based on the Ahwahnee Principles), which recognized exemplary projects, plans, policies and programs from throughout the fourteen Western States.

Michele has extensive experience in event production and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from California State University, Sacramento.
