Greening Communities in the San Joaquin Valley

Intro | Agenda

At this daylong workshop participants learned about the economic, social and environmental benefits of city trees, and techniques to incorporate trees and other urban greening strategies into downtown and neighborhood streets, parking lots, and other public spaces in the San Joaquin Valley. Participants heard about case studies from Sacramento County, West Sacramento, and Visalia.  Opportunities for funding projects and initiatives were presented, and attendees were able to ask State representatives about current grant programs.
