Multi-purpose public trails can provide safe and healthy transportation choices. Depending on where trails are located, they can be used by pedestrians and bicyclists to commute to work or school, run errands, or recreate. The workshop will explore opportunities to link San Joaquin Valley resources with trails, focusing on what is needed to plan and build trails to your community. Information on trail plans and projects in progress will be provided and future opportunities discussed. Presenters from the San Joaquin Valley will also share insight into how to provide trails along existing and former rail lines, and other linear corridors. The workshop will end with an optional field trip to a nearby site of a potential trail project.
The workshop is for anyone interested in providing healthy and active choices in the San Joaquin Valley. The event is free but you must pre-register by November 27, seating is limited. Lunch provided. Visit the registration page!
