The New Partners for Smart
Growth: Building Safe, Healthy and Livable Communities conference
was a tremendous success!
Over 950 people attended this dynamic, multidisciplinary
event, representing 40 different states and 5 different countries.
Audience demographics demonstrate the diverse constituencies
that participated, including:
- 23 high-school age youth leaders
- Over 75 local elected officials
- City/county government staff
- Public health professionals
- Transportation and engineering professionals
- Architects and landscape architects
- Planners and designers
- Law enforcement and crime prevention professionals
- Environmental professionals
- Advocates for older adults, youth and the economically disadvantaged
- Realtors and builders
- Bicycle and pedestrian advocates
- Educators and other community leaders
Agencies and organizations at the national, regional,
state and local level - all committed to furthering smart growth
principles - were present.
