As a complement to the national conference, this part of the conference focused on the nuts and bolts of how to get smart growth practices implemented in the Western States and brought the key players together—those who make the the final decision as to what gets built.

Everybody wants it, so what’s stopping us? This session began a dialogue between leading local government officials and developers about the challenges each group faces when trying to implement smart growth practices. Many of the breakout sessions which follow will continue the public/private sector dialogue.
