Pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure expert Dan Burden used scores of
striking images and examples to show how the building blocks of good
land use
planning lay the groundwork for pedestrian access and mobility as well as
safe and efficient traffic flow.
He illustrated the features of well-designed streets, sidewalks,
crosswalks, bicycle lanes, parking lanes and other elements of walkable
