This Year's Topic:
This year's event focused on land use strategies that lead
to more livable communities while also contributing to resource
sustainability. The agenda included patterns for sustainable
new development, green retrofits for existing development, creative
parking standards, the important role of trees, coordinating
watershed and land use decisionmaking, regional coordination
in watershed management, the role of watershed councils, and
strategies for protecting open space.

At this year's conference, the Ahwahnee
Water Principles for Resource Efficient Land Use were adopted.
