Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG)

California Energy Commission's application to the US DOE for the small communities EECBG was approved in September. The guidelines for the program were approved by the CEC on October 7th. The Application for the EECBG funds was scheduled to be released on October 8th, and the eligible small cities and counties will have until January 10, 2010, to apply for their ARRA funds. To assist the applicants, a workshop is scheduled October 22, 2009, and regional clinics scheduled October 28 through November 11, 2009.

State Energy Plan (SEP)

The CEC application to US DOE for ARRA State Energy Program was approved in September. Current program areas for funding opportunities include:

• Municipal Financing District Program (AB 811-type programs);
• California Comprehensive Residential Building Program; and
• Municipal and Commercial Building Targeted Measure Retrofit Program.

The guidelines for the program were approved by the CEC on September 30th. The solicitation was released on October 8th, and the CEC will be accepting applications until November 30th.

Other SEP programs are being considered by the CEC.
