San Jose Builds Green Summit — June 7, 2007

June Summit to Feature Green Building Innovations and Winning Strategies

To support the development of housing that is healthy, environmentally sustainable, and profitable to build, the City and Redevelopment Agency are hosting a Residential Green Building Summit for design, development, and construction professionals, in both the private and public sectors.

The Summit will highlight methods, incentives, rating systems, and case studies to support development of sustainable facilities, focusing on multi-family residential, high-rise, and production homes. There will be in-depth informational presentations on the rewards of green building, how to negotiate through the various residential rating systems, incorporating green building products and practices, and how to benefit from incentives and financing strategies.

Jeff Jacobs of Meritage Homes will be the keynote speaker, and the plenary speaker will be Darren Bouton of Pacific Gas & Electric. Session speakers include Ann Edminster of Design AVEnues LEED for Homes, Brian Gitt, Build It Green, Phil Williams of Webcor Builders, Heather Larson on the California Energy Star Multifamily Program, and Peter Liu of New Resource Bank.
