Third Annual New Partners for Smart
Growth Conference
Online registration is now open for the Third
Annual New Partners for Smart Growth: Building Safe, Healthy
and Livable Communities
conference. This event will be held January 22-24, 2004 at the
Hilton Portland and Executive Tower in Portland, Oregon.
You can view the most up-to-date information and register for
the conference through the conference web
site (http://www.outreach.psu.edu/C&I/SmartGrowth/).
The 2004 national conference will build on the tremendous success
of both the first and second annual New Partners for Smart Growth
conferences, held in 2002 in San Diego and 2003 in New Orleans.
A lot of progress has been made in the last year, and this conference
will provide the venue to showcase it! The program will feature
cutting-edge smart growth issues, the latest research, implementation
tools and strategies, successful case studies, new partners, new
projects, and new policies.
The web
site contains details about the conference program, optional
tours, pre-conference sessions, hotel rates and reservation information,
as well as the registration form. Please be sure to note the new
special group rates and Local Government Commission member rates
available this year, as well as other special features outlined
on the web site.
We expect the hotel WILL SELL OUT, so if you are considering attending
the conference, we encourage you to make your reservations as soon
as possible, by calling 1-800-HILTONS and asking for the group
rate, NewPartnersConf/LGC.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either
Michele Kelso or
Dave Defanti at
the Local Government Commission or Mark Bernhard
at Penn State University.
We hope to see you in Portland early next year to catch up on
what's new in smart growth!
