An Energy Newsletter for Local Governments
Since 2002, the Local Government Commission has brought together local government energy professionals to network with each other and to share ideas, frustrations and hopes. The most recent meeting took place on the Santa Monica Pier on November 13th. The agenda included strategies for increasing solar generation in California (installation and design standards, protecting solar access from new construction, and aggregated power purchase agreements for local government solar facilities), new distributed generation opportunities (‘virtual’ net metering for multifamily housing, and AB 2466), and energy efficiency public goods funding overseen by the California Public Utilities Commission.
The next meeting will be in San Francisco in February (exact date and location to be determined). If you would like to network with your local government energy peers, please contact Patrick Stoner (pstoner 'AT' lgc 'DOT' org) to get on the notification list.
