San Francisco Solar Conference in October
A major solar conference and expo will take place in San Francisco
from October 19-22, 2004. This event provides a great opportunity
for community leaders to learn about current and upcoming solar
policies, financing options, and the technology itself. LGC members
can register at the discounted Member/Non-Profit rate.
Mayors, city council members, state legislators, city and state
energy program managers, facility managers, and others involved
in decisions regarding energy usage and policy are invited to attend.
Conference sessions - October 19-21. Those who attend the
full conference will learn about solar policies, technology trends,
and financing tools, and enjoy all of the events listed below for
Thursday.
Special one-day offer - Thursday, October 21. For those
who are unable to attend the full conference, Thursday provides
an excellent opportunity to learn the essentials.
- Morning plenary - Hear three important yet very different
perspectives on the value of solar from: the CEO of a major solar
manufacturer, a senior utility executive, and a celebrity who
has solar on their own home.
- Commercial and public installations workshop - Participate
in a 2-hour workshop with facility managers and senior executives
of organizations that have installed solar on their facility(s).
Organizations invited to speak to you include U.S. Coast
Guard, Norman Glick Middle School, the Oroville Region Sewage
Commission (Butte County), St. Francis Winery and Vineyards,
Neutrogena, and Mt. Tam Racquet Club. You
will learn why they chose to put solar on their facility, how
it has benefited their organization, and what their advice is
to you.
- CEO's panel - Hear from the CEO's of a selection of
large solar manufacturers and distributors. Find out where they
see the future of solar technologies.
- Expo - Enjoy a free lunch while visiting with more
than 60 companies that manufacturer, sell and install solar.
- San Francisco City Installations tour - See solar
installations first hand on a two-hour tour. Sites on the tour
include the Moscone Convention Center, Salvation Army Housing,
Argonne Child Development Center, Fiesta Laundromat, Rainbow
Grocery, and Shell Station.
