SB 375 Workshops

The Local Government Commission is convening a series of workshops on implementing SB 375, what local governments need to know about climate change legislations. This series will be similar to last year’s workshops on AB 32, which drew hundreds of people in each location.

AB 32 and SB 375 create a framework to help California meet the challenges of climate change. Local governments play a crucial role in helping the State implement these new laws and in helping to preserve the high quality of life that California residents value.

The day-long workshops will cover:

  • How AB 32 and SB 375 relate to local governments
  • Strategies for local government compliance
  • Economic benefits
  • How to take advantage of the new CEQA rules and exemptions
  • Funding opportunities for planning and implementation
  • Model programs and best practices that result in the most greenhouse gas emission reduction for your money

Speakers will include top staff from Senator Steinberg’s office, the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, and the California Air Resources Board. Regional and local experts will showcase some of the best and most innovative steps that local governments throughout the state are taking, providing specific examples as models for others to follow.

Workshop dates:

  • April 16 — Riverside
  • May 7 — Fresno
  • June 4 — San Diego
  • June 25 — Los Angeles
  • July 15 — Oakland
  • July 30 — Sacramento
