The founding partners include State Government Agencies, Universities, and Next10, a nonprofit organization. CoolCalifornia.org is designed for the people of California, and many Californians have provided input that shaped the site. CoolCalifornia.org’s partner organizations seek to empower Californians to improve the State’s future and protect its environment. They include:

  • California Air Resources Board
  • Berkeley Institute of the Environment
  • Lawrence Berkeley National Lab
  • California Energy Commission
  • Next 10
  • California Public Utilities Commission

CoolCalifornia.org’s mission is to provide all Californians with the tools they need to take action to protect the climate and keep California cool.

The CoolCalifornia.org website includes a section dedicated to local government that provides a local government toolkit to identify cost saving actions, financial resources, and case studies to assist local governments with achieving GHG emission reductions. There are tips on climate action planning, saving money, financial resources, and climate calculators. Case studies of successful local government programs can also be found there.

The website is regularly updated. You can also sign up and join local government blogs.
