Shedding Some Light on Energy Efficiency: The second annual Statewide Energy Efficiency Best Practices Forum on July 28th is fast approaching, so register now! The forum will be held at the Wyndham Hotel in San Jose, CA and is free of charge to California local governments.
The forum will highlight the most innovative local energy and climate change programs in the state. Confirmed keynote speakers include California Secretary for Natural Resources, John Laird; California Energy Commissioner, Karen Douglas; and California Air Resources Board Executive Officer, James Golstene.
New this year: Roommate and Ridesharing Assistance and Travel Scholarships
Roommate and carpool matching is being offered to offset travel and lodging expenses. Visit the event website and download the Roommate & Ridesharing Assistance Form (PDF) for more information.
If you are a local government partner of one of the utilities (PG&E, Edison, The Gas Company or SDG&E), check with your utility contract manager for travel costs you can cover under your partnership. For those local government folks not in a utility partnership, there will be a limited number of scholarships to help offset travel and lodging costs to attend (up to $400). For information about scholarships please contact Melissa Harper-Barton at mbarton@lgc.org.
LGC is organizing the forum through the Statewide Energy Efficiency Collaborative (SEEC), a partnership between LGC, ICLEI, Institute for Local Governments, and California’s four investor owned utilities.
