CPUC 2010-12 Energy Efficiency PGC Programs

Although the decision on the 2010-12 energy efficiency programs was made in September, there is still a lot of work to be done to get in full operation.

The utilities have several advice letters they need to file between now and June. The one due in February (unless that deadline gets extended) involves local government strategic plan activities, budgets, milestones and timelines, as well as more detailed information about the ICLEI-ILG-LGC statewide local government assistance programs.

PG&E must file an advice letter on its $17M local government innovator pilot program, and Southern California Edison must file an advice letter on its $32M pilot innovative local government Strategic Plan strategies. PG&E has reduced the amount of money going into its innovator pilot program to around $5M.

The statewide local government energy efficiency best practices coordinator position that the utilities are to fund, and which is to be embedded in and report to ICLEI, the Local Government Commission and/or the Institute for Local Government, has not been established.

There are also workshops schedule on various aspects of the decision. To receive notice of any activities related to this decision, sign up with the CPUC Process Office (http://docs.cpuc.ca.gov/published/service_lists/sl_index.htm) and ask to be placed on the list for R.08-07-021.
