Spring 2003

California Conferences

Great Valley Center

The Great Valley Center’s sixth annual conference is fast approaching! The theme of this year’s conference is Creating Better Futures, referring to both the increasing importance of the region in California’s future and encouraging Valley residents to consider the challenges of the future and how best to address them.

The conference will be held from May 14-15, 2003 at the Radisson Hotel in Sacramento, California. The conference is California’s largest annual gathering focused on the Central Valley. The Great Valley Center expects more than 800 business, community, and government leaders from throughout the region to attend.

Online registration is available now. For questions regarding sponsorship and exhibit information, contact the Center at (209) 522-5103 or e-mail conference@greatvalley.org. For registration and additional information regarding the conference and its companion events, visit http://www.greatvalley.org/.

Local Government Commission

The LGC’s Planning and Building More Livable Communities conference will be held June 27 - 28, 2003 at the U.S. Grant Hotel in San Diego, California.

The conference will bring together the increasingly diverse groups for planning and building more livable communities. It will examine the barriers to working together and determine how to overcome them. Inspirational local projects will be featured, and project implementers will tell how they did it.

Public and private sector leaders interested in joining together their diverse interests to assure the economic vitality, health, safety, and livability of California communities are invited to attend. It's a hands-on, how-to-do it conference — be prepared to roll up your sleeves! Online registration will be available beginning April 7.

For more information, or to find out how to become a conference sponsor and the associated benefits, please contact Michele Kelso at (916) 448-1198 ext. 308 or mkelso@lgc.org.
