Sacramento Region Air Quality and Infill Streamlining Program
The Sacramento Region Air Quality and Infill Streamlining Program (ISP) is a grant program to assist the Sacramento Region in meeting federal air quality standards and the requirements of California’s Sustainable Communities and Climate Protection Act of 2008 (SB 375). The ISP provides technical assistance to local jurisdictions to facilitate community planning projects in infill locations and to improve air quality through land use measures that help reduce vehicle miles traveled.
Program Update
The ISP issued its first request for project proposals in November 2010 and received an excellent response, with many applications received from local jurisdictions throughout the Sacramento region. The ISP Policy Committee, the project selection hearing body, convened in March 2011 to make the final selection for projects to receive ISP assistance during the first ISP funding cycle. The staff report and the meeting summary for this hearing are available at the links below.

ISP Policy Committee Meeting Summary for March 31, 2011
Any governmental agency with land use planning jurisdiction that is within the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) region or the Sacramento Federal Nonattainment Area (SFNA) for Federal air quality standards may apply for assistance. More details are provided in the Guidelines and Request for Project Proposals program document. The SFNA and SACOG region include the counties of El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo, Yuba and an eastern portion of Solano County.
The deadline for applications for the first step of the first ISP funding cycle was December 10, 2010. When the next ISP funding cycle begins, we will make available updated ISP guidelines and release a request for project proposals to all governmental agencies eligible to apply for ISP assistance. Guidelines for the ISP's first funding cycle are available in the current ISP Guidelines and Request for Project Proposals. This document and all of its attachments are available for download under the Program Documents section on this page.
