Haley Ausserer-Zelaya is a communications strategist with 15 years of experience in the field. She has managed marketing and communications for nonprofits, arts organizations, ecommerce companies, social changemakers, and higher education.
A relationship builder with a focus on community engagement, Haley is passionate about end-of-life issues, sustainable food systems, and LGBTQ+ community. As a commissioner with the Blue Ribbon Commission on the Establishment of a Sacramento County Women’s Commission, and the communications co-chair of Sacramento for Women and Girls, Haley successfully advocated for a permanent Sacramento County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. She has also served on the Board of Slow Food Sacramento, the local chapter of an international organization committed to good, clean, and fair food for all.
Haley holds an MBA from Mills College, and a BA in Media and Cultural Studies from Hampshire College. She lives in Sacramento with her wife Emily and their terrier Woody.
